WORK IT WEDNESDAY: Seven Times - Seven Rounds

So, I want to do a feature called Work It Wednesday. I'll choose Wednesday's to share any tutorials or tips for being a better YOU. It might be a workout routine, a hair tute, skin care secrets.... You get the idea. I thought I'd kick it off with one of my favorite exercise routines.

Every once in a while we need a work out that is fast and effective. This is one of my favorite little routines to do when I just don't have enough time to make it to the gym or pop in a dvd. It gets your heart rate going and lets you feel the burn!

So here's the low down:

There are 4 moves in each round. You do SEVEN of each move then repeat the whole round SEVEN times.

Push-ups.
Burpees.
Sit-Ups.
Jumping Jacks.

There you have it folks...

SEVEN TIMES - SEVEN ROUNDS

Enjoy the burn!

Love this

I stumbled on this list and it made me happy! Although, I'm not a coffee drinker, I do enjoy a cup of peppermint tea.

Remember, Keep creating!!!

*I found this on facebook and couldn't figure out the original person to give credit where it's due. If you happen to have done this or know who did, let me know so I can link up!

Monday Musings:

Do you ever have those weeks where your life is so chaotic you say to yourself:

“Self, you need to figure out your priorities. Eliminate stress. Simplify your life.”

And then you’re all like:

“Oh, you’re SO funny!”

Yeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh….. That’s me this week.

I always laugh when people respond to me being a stay at home Mom with, “Don’t you get bored? What do you do all day?” Alright all, y’all. Let’s get one thing clear. There is an abundance of things to do as a SAHM and rarely does it have anything to do with bonbons or Netflix. At least not at my house. (Now that I think of it, maybe I’m doing something wrong…)

Anyways, besides the normal tasks of keeping a somewhat tidy home, making meals, paying bills, entertaining children, keeping hubby happy, working on side businesses, exercising, etc, etc, etc… This week is Kansas City Fashion Week.

FASHION WEEK!!!!
Amazing dresses, beautifully structured jackets, hunky man boys, high heels, hairspray, false lashes…. so much to love!

If you read my about me you might have caught the part about being a sometimes model. Well, there are two weeks a year that basically mean all model, all the time. It’s fun. It’s intense. It’s EXHAUSTING. We’re on day 3 of this “week” that really runs about 10 days when you take in all the fittings and rehearsals that lead up to the actual event that kicks off on Wednesday. I can’t wait. I’m hoping to get some great pictures from the runway to share with you in the coming weeks and one of our local Fashion Bloggers will be styling some of us for the official kick-off party Wednesday night! I’ll be sure to link up to her post when I get the info.

As if all that wasn’t interesting enough on it’s own we now have Winter Storm Rocky (Since when do they name snow storms anyway?!) headed our way promising to drop somewhere between 2 and 25 inches of snow depending on who’s talking. I love snow. I mean REALLY love it. I like to play in it and build snowmen and use it as an excuse to drink way too many cups of cocoa. BUT, I do NOT like driving in it. So, let’s all get some good mojo going for NO MO SNO.

That’s what I’ve got going on. So tell me, how’s your week shaping up?

Burlap Bubble Wreath How-To

001
With the winter doldrums in full swing around here I decided it was high time to pull down my winter wreath and come up with something new and cheerful to brighten up my front door. I saw a similar bubble wreath on pinterest using fabric, but I’m a bit of a burlap nut, so I decided to give it a try with that!
Here is what you need to make one of your very own!

SUPPLIES
2/3 Yard Fabric or Burlap
Paint in the color of your fabric
Scissors
10” Wreath Form
100 Straight Pins (WITH pearl heads if using burlap!)

Alright, so here’s how it’s done:

1. Paint your wreath form  and straight pin heads a color that blends in with the fabric you chose and let dry. (Don’t worry, there’s plenty to do while drying! I skipped this step so that you will be able to see better in the pictures just what I’m doing. Also, if you are using regular fabric you can use regular straight pins without the pearl “head” so you won’t need to paint them.)

2. Cut the fabric you chose into 4” squares. For a 10” wreath like the one I made you need right around 100 squares, so you’ll end up with a pretty good sized pile. Don’t worry if they’re not perfectly square, they just need to be close!

3. Do the magic bubble fold in three quick steps!

Fold corner to corner. Bring the right corner to the front of the folded piece. Bring the left corner to the back.
4. Pin it through the bottom where your folds all meet.

5. Push the pin into the wreath form. (TIP: Go in at an angle or you’ll end up with the points poking through the back of your wreath! OUCH!)

6. Keep folding and pinning, overlapping the bubbles to keep the pins hidden until you’ve covered the entire wreath.

7.  Fluff the bubbles to your liking, hang it up and enjoy your work!

I’m in love with these bubble wreaths, they’re so simple and easy to embellish. Add some flowers and a quick bow to make it even more springy or some mini pumpkins and fall leaves to transition into the fall. Thanks for following along! Be sure to leave a link in the comments to any of your bubble wreaths. I’d love to see them!
